Rich
in Gold Rush History, Skagway is located in the Upper Lynn Canal and is considered
the northern most point in Southeast Alaska. The City of Skagway is geographically
the largest city in Alaska with 455 square land miles.
Skagway
also is the home of the Skagway White Pass Rail a narrow gauge railroad is an
International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark which was built in 1868 during
the Klondike Gold Rush.
The Historic
District is where visitors walk along boardwalks lined with false-fronted buildings.
Walking tours and interpretive programs can be found at the visitor center. The
district and other local attractions are on the National Register of Historic
Places.
