KETCHIKAN

Use the Travel Planner off to the right to glimpse what awaits you in Ketchikan, Alaska! From accommodations, fishing charters and sightseeing tours, to sea kayaking and native art.

Enjoy building a most memorable experience in this cultural town.

Ketchikan is known for its Alaskan Native Cultural and because of the abundance of fish and the eventual construction of salmon canneries this town now boast its self as the "Salmon Capital of the World."

Sportfishing is always plentiful in Ketchikan with five species of salmon, abundant bottom dwellers like halibut, cod and snapper and a variety of freshwater trout. As in most Southeast communities outdoor activities are readily available which include camping, hiking, wildlife viewing, boating and other outdoor activities. From do it yourself packages to full-service world-class resorts and charming lodges, the Ketchikan area has a fishing experience that will appeal to your style and budget

Ketchikan is well known for Creek Street a wooden boardwalk, which borders Ketchikan Creek and winds through the heart of downtown. Creek St. was Ketchikan's red light district when prostitution was legal. The former brothels now host restaurants and shops. Dolly's House Museum, once the home of Madam Dolly Arthur, is open for tours.

Ketchikan is where you will find a good mix of culture, fun and frolic.
