Kenai - Soldotna

Kenai is the heart of Alaskan adventure; it is located on the Kenai Peninsula where the world-famous Kenai River meets Cook Inlet. It is surrounded by spectacular scenery and wildlife, and has a rich history of native and Russian settlements and culture. Kenai is at the mouth of the beautiful Kenai River and has unlimited views of Cook Inlet and the surrounding majestic mountain ranges. The Kenai River is known for its world-class King Salmon fishing. Kenai is easily accessible from Anchorage via a 30-minute flight or a leisurely and beautiful 3-hour drive, approximately 150 miles to the south.

In Soldotna you'll enjoy the best of Alaska at your doorstep. Soldotna is famous for world class fishing and fabulous accommodations.  Voted the #1 Fishing Hotspot in North America by Field & Stream Magazine in 2004, the Kenai River offers you world class Chinook (King), Sockeye (Red), Coho (Silver) and Pink Salmon fishing, not too mention some of world's finest trout fishing as well!  Wildlife viewing, flightseeing, flyout fishing and bear viewing, bird watching, horseback riding, canoe and hiking trips, winter recreation, shopping, gourmet dining and more await you on your visit! Soldotna has more river city parks than anywhere else in Alaska, and we are proud to offer 3,700 feet of elevated fishing boardwalk along the Kenai River and over 220 campsites for visitors to our city to enjoy.
